Mountain Biking - Cocunut juice bad for riding?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi all, i've been starting to drink cocunut juice for a week now, and now i feel horrible when riding my bike.
my arm aches while riding, my legs ache too, they feel kinda soft.
i think coconut juice is a cooling drink and shouldn't be drank that often.
I'm now planning to drink more milk, hopefully get my legs back!!
just a word of advice though.
what do you people think?

Not sure what the coconut juice you drink actually is. The people I ride with, including myself, regularly drink fresh, unprocessed, non-sweetened juice directly from a freshly opened coconut. It's cool and refreshing and good for you. That happens several times a week. Don't blame it on the coconut. Maybe what you are drinking is one of those highly processed, high fructose corn syrup added concoctions with who knows what added to make it last a lifetime without spoilage. All bets are off if that's the case. Have it checked for melamine.

Try not drinking it for a week. Just go back to your regular diet. If you still feel like a wet noodle, then it's you. Even if it is made with HFCS, I can't concieve any deleterious effects. I can't imagine why anybody would want to raise the protein of coconut juice (melamine). But stranger things have been known to occur. Maybe this weak feeling is the hump you just need to push yourself over, take a day off to rest and see if that doesn't help. Good luck.

I found that when I left the rum out of the coconut drinks I rode much better. Either leave it out or switch to a better brand of rum.

Why are we talking about coconut juice and rum?
For shame.

It is more likely that it is you that are bad for riding.
coconut juice generally has a lot of fat. The rum cuts the fat, so don't easy up on the rum.
