Has anyone used the sweet looking Paul Component track dropouts? They have integral chain tensioner via thumbscrew, pics attached (I hope). I'm having frame built by Rock Lobster and looking for comments. Thankx.

Hi dabern...

Yes I have these on my good bike. I think they are great and highly recommend them.

I ordered a custom frame made with Paul track ends but it's not finished yet. The builder said that they'd probably end up costing him about the same amount as Surly track ends, and they look much nicer.

Thanks for the input, Jim, and that's a nice bike. Rock Lobster said I could have Surly or Paul dropouts and I'm definitely going for the Paul. Will now have an unused set of MKS chain tensioners that I cached for the bike but that will be an excuse to build something else to use them on later. Ah, rationalization.

It'd be nice to have those installed on my Bianchi. It'd actually make the bike near perfect for my use.

I dream of a track frame, or something with better drop outs. But reality says that locking it up down town or on base would have me end up with a nice bike that's trashed.

So, instead of spending 400 on a frame, I could get these installed on the Bianchi.

Interesting option.

How much do they cost?

Conflicting price info at paulcomponent.com...so either $35 or $40.
