Question: I'm looking for some track drop bars - maybe Nitto b125s. Here's my question - I know that to size road bars take the width of your shoulders (balls of your shoulders) and add 2 cm if the bars are measured center-to-center. I measure about 41 cm in this regard, so use 42cm or 44cm road bars. However, now in looking for track bars - I rarely see anything even as large as 40cm. Do you size these differently than road bars?

track drops are purposefully narrower but they're nothing difficult about choosing a set. Just buy as close to the width of your road drops and you'll be fine. ben's carries 40cm B125s and up to 44cm in the b123s, check em out http://www.benscycle.net/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=188_232_592

the rule of thumb that i've heard was, size your shoulders center-to-center, and get track drops that width. i ride 38cm wide bars.

most people i know ride between 38 and 42.
