Hi All,
I love my new Edge 705 but cant get mapsource to recognize a flash card in it. I get an error when exporting maps with Mapsource to the card on a Vista machine : "parameter is incorrect." In Windows Exploper, a drive appears not only for the Egde but also for the flash card. However, when I explore the flash card drive windows gives an error that no media is inserted.
I can't fix the problem even after...
-upgrading the firmware to 2.4
-trying three different flash cards: two different 2gb Kingstons and a 35MB Sandisk all of which work fine in other devices.
-trying to access the Edge flash drive on a different computer with XP.
Any ideas or help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

I don't know if Vista is the problem as OP stated that he/she tried on an XP machine. Do you have access to another micro sd card reader? and if your using the SD adapter is the write protection turned off?

This may sound odd, but does it format the cards for you?

It's not exactly the same situation but I have a digital camera that uses 3½" floppy discs to store images on and if I have the camera format the discs they can't be read by anything else, but if I format them on the computer they're fine.

Any chance you're having a similar issue?

Hmm, on the surface I think your Edge may have a bad card slot based on the fact that you have tried mutiple cards and on various computers.

However, have you checked to see that you have the USB drivers installed?
