I have the Mavic's. They are great wheels and are really stiff....but I have noticed, lately, that with the winds blowing in the midwest over 30 MPH on seemingly a daily basis that the bladed spokes, when riding in excess of 20 mph (speed is an issue here due to the faster rotation of the spokes) that I really feel crosswinds. Much more so than a "normal" spoke. Yesterday, riding in gusts in excess of 35 MPH, I switched my front wheel to an Open Pro after the third time the front wheel was nearly snatched from my hands. With the Open Pro, it fixed the problem.
Now, these were extreme conditions. However, it truly had not occurred to me that the aero spokes would make the handling so different...it feels like a disc at speed.
But, in normal conditions, I can really hammer these wheels,,,I have a full carbon fork (including the drop outs) and between the two I can really go through turns much more quickly without any loss of control. They are also very strong. There were riders out here using them to ride cyclocross.
