Northern California - NorCal Route List

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I haven't seen a list of rides in Northern California, so I thought it would be a good project to collect them. I'll put together a web site with the ride list and cue sheets or even just turn by turn directions.
Alternatively, post a club web site where local rides are listed.
I've got a couple that I'm going to put up now.
Please send me your regular rides! Cue sheets with a mileage, feet climbed, and starting place would be great. jnshapiro@mindspring.com
I'm hoping to make this a good resource. I'll make sure to put your name as "submitted by" with rides you send.
Thanks!

Most of the local bike clubs, as well as many local bike shops, have web sites with detailed descriptions of their favorite rides.

I'm aware of that. However, a lot of folks do other rides. And it would be nice to gather all of it together in one place rather than to have to check out 15 different sites in order to find a ride you're interested in.
this is an awesome idea, I was hoping for something like this after I moved here and wanted to get started... a lot of the clubs are a bit "much" for me and you have to look at different places to find recommended routes (though bikely is pretty good :) ).

This starts at the Delta High School parking lot (same place as the last tandem wheelsucker ride but is about 35 miles longer).

As for elevation... I've no Garmin but it's pretty flat. Rollers between Rio Vista and Bird's Landing 500' maybe? It's a few miles long this ride is, but this is a great ride. Especially if there's no wind (1 in 10 chance).

I often post Santa Rosa Cycling Club rides on Bikely. SRCC.com has a lot of rides listed. You could list their rides then give a link to their site for people who want exact route directions.

Maybe I'm blind, but I can't find a way to generate a cue sheet on bikely. Is it there?
You have to add comments to various points on the ride for that to work. Just drawing the map will not do it.
Ah, so in order to make a cue sheet from someone else's route, I'd have to list each turn out. Got it (not gonna do it either). Thanks.

I have quite a few route sheets on hardcopy. Is there a way to post scanned sheets?

I'll fax them to myself when I get a chance. I receive faxes on email as pdfs then I'll email them to you.

OK, I just sent you all of them. That's 11 total, I believe. Some may need explanation. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for doing this!
Thanks Chris! I'll dig through them over the next few days and will let you know if I have any questions.
