My wife and I just bought our first tandem! I'm so excited that I wanted to share with everyone.

We have been tandeming for a bit more than a year. Our first tandem major tandem outing was last summer, when we rented a Trek T-1000 and toured around the San Juan Islands in Washington state. Since then, we've been borrowing an old Santana tandem from relatives. Using that tandem, we've taken a couple of extended trips in Sonoma and Napa Valley wine country, and a trip to Yosemite National Park. The loaner tandem wasn't a great fit for us, but it was hard to pass up a free tandem.

Now that we had proven that we have continued tandeming together, and with concrete plans for two more significant tandem trips in the next six months, we started shopping around for a tandem of our own.

As luck would have it, our local tandem specialist LBS had some size small 2007 Trek T-1000 tandems steeply discounted during their fall clearance sale. It was the same model we rode and liked in the San Juan Islands. It was a deal we couldn't pass up.

Now we are the proud owners of a brand new Trek T-1000 tandem!

Very nice!! Welcome to the tandem forum.

The captain's saddle seems a little too high.

Beautiful tandem, I think blue is a perfect color for a two seater. Congratulations.

Yeah, the saddle was way too high in the picture, because after our test ride, they put it up on the stand to install the bottle cages. I'm so short, that at the proper saddle height, there's no room for the clamp on the captain's seat post.

I've since adjusted it to the proper height, added a rear rack and reflector, and installed a fourth bottle cage. Our first post-sale ride will be this weekend (weather permitting)!

Congratulations on your new wheels, nice to have a permanent setup...

Bikeguy - Co-motion is running at about 16weeks on delivery. My wife and I ordered A Periscope Torpedo Custom (custom because I request 2 S&S couplers). When I called the other week it was expected to go to assembly on 10/7. Hoping for delivery next week....
