I got a chance to take my 08 rockhopper out for a ride off road the other day. Was told they would be mtb trails but ended up being an open hay field to explore with a small patch of single track hear and there. I had a blast. Can't wait till I can get to some maintained trails. Anyway part way through the ride shifting started getting funky but nothing major. Fast forward to when I get home and pull the rear wheel to fix a flat and the rear derailleur falls off the bike. I didn't take any hard spills or bang aginst anything that I can think of. Get to looking at it and the head of the bold that holds it on has been ripped off. Is this normal? Getting a new bolt tomarrow and I'm wondering if I need to get a few just in case?
OH and I had such a blast ridding.
