Don´t know if anybody´s interested but some years ago ( 99? ) Big Mig Indurain moved to a triple, 50 - 40 - 32 with a 11 - 23 casette , longer than a 53- 12 but with short gears as well . Nice man ; bit shy but a great guy , used to see him training and his brother inlaw works near by - good place to live . Last race we organised when past his house and he came out to watch : will LA do the same in 10 years ?

I just read in one of the bikes mags where a guy wrote in. He was doing a training ride in the Los Angeles area on Muholland Rd. and ends up beside LA. He said that LA had a full blown conversation with him, not just a quick "hi". Apparently the guy phoned his wife to say he was riding with LA and Lance even took the phone and talked to the guys wife. So, I would say "yes" to your question.

I think they're both approachable kind of guys. Not sure why LA and his wife broke up but doing so with kids takes him down a notch in my book.

I run a 48-45-34 / 13-23 18-speed half-step-plus-granny setup on the PKN-10, giving me a 40-inch "emergency" low gear about 7 percent higher than Indurain's. Although I rarely use it, its presence is reassuring. No sense killing one's knees with a typical Tour de France 50-inch low gear, such as a 39/21.

I doubt LA will be living in Indurain's house in ten years.

would you rather them stay together and have the kids have to deal with living with parents that really don't love each other anymore?

my parents separated when i was little and seeing how they are towards each other today, i'm thankful they did. i wouldn't want to be anywhere near that trainwreck had they stayed together "for my sake"

Everyone's situation is different... I just think being in a role model situation as LA is that the divorce is not the a very role-model-like behavior.

Blast, you never know what goes on behind closed doors. Having married a woman who had two children from a previous marriage I can attest to the damage a bad divorce can wreck. Despite what you seem to think I have heard nothing of this divorce being "bad". If LA does the right thing and takes care of his kids thats all that really matters.

Divorce = bad role-model-like behavior? Judging him without being privy to all of the info leading up to the big D, or knowing who initiated it and why? It is how he conducts himself during the divorce that matters. Also if she is the one that filed for the divorce he wouldn't be able to stop, but he could be civil. With what it took for him to have children i'm sure they will come first in any decisions that they make together.
