Lets try this again.

So about a month ago i posed the idea to my boss to start selling ad space for photo essay's to go on our website (thewoodstockindependent.com).

A few weekends ago i took some sound with a cheap audio recorder and snapped a few non-action shots. I put them together and presented him the final product...which all in all is ok but i need to try a bit harder on the non action shots.

Tell me what you're impressions are. I'm looking more for feedback on the presentation itself and less about the photographs as individual shots, as many of them are, in fact, crap....."proof of concept"...

My boss sold ad space for one of these for next weeks issue, i will be covering hte home coming game. Whoopie!

A very nice member (kiz5) at fredmiranda.com hosted the file for me

Overall I liked it. Might be a bit long. Perhaps include a few more shots of scores, scoreboard, etc. I think a nice touch would have been a crowd shot with American flag in background during the national anthem. Mayb the same sort of thing if the Alma mater is sung, school flag, etc.

Hope this helps.

I like it. How are the ads going to be placed in the slide show? In my opinion the adds should be at the beginning and end, but not anywhere during the slide show, but that is just my opinion.

I was thinking that different companies might sponsor different things like the band, color guard, cheer leaders, etc. so that ad placement could be targeted to different images.

It has a really cool feel to it. It's more like an NPR radio show than anything I've seen on the net, and for me, that's a really good thing. It stimulates the imagination more so than a youtube video, but still gives you a feeling on what it was like to be there.

Pretty cool idea. I'd be interested to see how the ads come into it, though.

That is a pretty good idea, however I like the black frames around the pic's. I wonder how good it would look with the ad on the image.

I wouldn't work under those conditions. The entire flow of the essay is a creative process and thought out. The ads will be either pre-link or pre-essay as far as i know.
