Mountain Biking - AARGH...this is taking forever!!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Still waiting on warranty info from Jamis / Jensonusa.
Sent the info 15 days ago. Got an email 8 days ago saying that they sent everything to Jamis. (dadgum interbike)
Now I wait.

I know you dont like the new komodo frame, but what do you think of the old one? (I'm looking at getting one and swapping parts from my XC bike to that and getting a new fork). They look really robust to me.
How old? My '04 is nice 'cept for a flexy tri.
I don't mind the new one. I like the 2005-2008 pretty well. The '09 is starting to skimp in the rear end.

This is what I was looking at. Still not sure on the year, but it looks like the last gen.
I think that's a 2007 Komodo 2.0. Looks nice and beefy. Really I think the diff betw that and the '08 is just a rifled top tube. I was looking at that one too.

On PB? I think it would be a really cool looking frame if you took off all of the stickers (minus the LBDs, assuming it uses frame LBDs).
Ya, but not looking anymore.

Did you find something?
Nah...this was when I thought I was SOL regarding my current frame. I think I'm getting a new one warranty'd. If not...I have other ideas, I guess.
I would think about starting to call Jenson each Thursday (not Fridays - - nobody is around on Fridays and the ones that are don't want to work) and talk to the Customer Service/Returns person and be sure that he/she is staying on top of this and actually communicating with Jamis occasionally on your behalf and not just letting the slow boat take its course.
If they start getting irritated with you, remind them that you can just as easily be talking on the telephone with the LA/Riverside/San Bernardino Counties Better Business Bureau instead. And that, seeing as how they only have a 'C' rating from them and that they have a history of not responding to BBB complaints, that they might want to do what they can to improve their standing. You can also point out that you are a respected (lie :D) citizen of a few influential online cycling forums with a lot of friends and allies (again, lie :D) and can start a flame war of epic proportions that could last into the next decade.

PM Oleanshoebox and see what's up.
I have been personally in contact with the warranty guy. (I won't list his name here) I will call him Thurs as you sugg. Doug. I have also told them in emails that I am very active on more than one cycling forum and have given Jenson a thumbs up for their customer svc in the past. I can just as easily flip that around.
I don't wanna play mind games with them though. This is a long-standing relationship with Jenson LOL, I had the same guy take care of me when I got a new XLT swingarm, and when I bought the '04 Komodo frame...the first one had a crooked rear tri by about 5mm.
We'll see how goes, but I can only be patient for so long.

Maybe 66 can get the TGMBG together and go "rough em up" a bit for ya!
Well, I just spoke with the dude at Jenson and they're gonna send me a Komodo FX2.0 frame.
I guess it's this one (look familiar?):

It's definately burlier than mine and was supposed to be a FRHT designed around a 150-160mm fork. I may decide to stick widdit. I'll see what it looks like when it arrives. They said they think it's on the dock right now.

Ahhhw, you can break that.
Thank goodness it's going to show up after the Red Bull Rampage . . . you would have demolished it!
Thanks for all the support. It's nice to know that there are people in this world who agree that I'm a capable and ambitious person. (is that why they call me "Special Ed"?)

Excellent!
The Jamis site shows it with a 130mm fork and a HA of 67.5. Your Fox ought to work just fine with that.

hey nice paint scheme on that komodo
Yah...I think it was ripped off of some other sucky bike, but it's sexy just the same.
hey nice paint scheme on that komodoAnd diggin' the font - - Writers Original - - and, coincidentally, the TGMBG font.
I just spoke with Jenson...he said it's satin grey/blk.
It's 1 1/8" head tube and 27.2 post.
Only thing I can find to somewhat match that description is the 2005:

If it's the 2004 FX...I'm gonna be pissed.
http://www.bike-alog.com/bikepedia/Helpers/thumb2.aspx?w=800&h=800&filename=2004-Jamis-Komodo-FX.jpg
He said it's got the vertical support struts on the rear tri on both sides, so I'm only assuming it's the 2005 burlier one. At least that one was designed around 150mm frokking frok.
