Great Lakes - Akron Ohio Critical Mass

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

We've started doing Critical Mass again in Akron. It's the 2nd and last Friday of the month, months with three fridays 2nd, possibly 4th, and last.
The meet is 5pm at the Highland Square Library bike racks (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=807+W.+Market+St.+Akron+Ohio&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=56.899383,114.257812&ie=UTF8&z=17&iwloc=addr) and rides start at 530pm. There's updates on the myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/akroncm) or you can email akroncm@gmail.com to sign up for the mailing list.
Next ride is this Friday (10/10/2008).

I hope you all stay away from Broadway/High/Main streets downtown, not just because I am riding through on my way home at that time, but because I ride through there daily on my way to and from work, the drivers tend to treat me with respect and courtesy and I'd like to keep it that way. :notamused:
But feel free to take the show to Barberton/Norton, where the drivers tend to be jerks. I'll meet up with you at about six while riding home. ;)

Since when is Critical Mass a negative thing? Seems like you may be letting a few controversial Critical Masses influence what you think Critical Mass is. It's not a group of cyclists with bad attitudes or hundreds of riders ruining your daily commute. It's a friendly ride like most Critical Masses, not a protest against driving but a spontaneous celebration of cycling. As a commuter you should be supportive, as most Massers are commuters too and have the same concerns you do. We're a friendly bunch so come ride if you've got a free Friday. :thumb:

The only thing I see worth an LOL is yr spelling. If you're confused about terminology why not consult the 'Critical Mass' Wikipedia entry...
