I think it'll work, but I can't tell if it's top or bottom pull. If it's top, good to go.

Probably not, the 2007 stumpjumper looks to have a bottom swing front derailleur, the 2008 rockhopper lists a top swing.

Actually the Stumpjumper is a bottom swing but a dual pull so it will probably work just fine as long as you have room to mount it.

clamp diameter seems to be the same and i think that lx derail could be used as top or bottom pull (2 attachment points), so yeah it should work just fine,

Thanks everyone. I got it swapped out but am having trouble getting it adjusted. It won't swing out far enough. The outer cage rubs on the chain when it's on the big ring. Rotation is right. It's not hitting on the limit screw. Any ideas? Should I raise it up more?

I think I have it working now. The inner cage plate was hitting on the middle chain ring. Seams to me the derailleur is very high (about a half inch above the bid chain ring) but it is shifting smooth. Headed out for a ride so I'll know in a bit if I did it right or not.
