Civista Potomac Heritage Bicycle Tour
Sunday, October 12, 2008, starting 7:00 am
Start at the Charles County Government Building, La Plata, MD 20646
Routes of 14, 33, 60, 80 and 100 miles around Charles and St. Mary's counties.
Rural ride in Maryland's Amish country. The 100 goes to Leonardtown.

Looks like a fun ride. St Mary's county is beautiful and I've always wanted to bike it.
Not the best weekend for an away trip, but I may try to clear my schedule for this one.

Yep just saw it myself in another thread. If I was not going to Florida this weekend I would be riding in it for sure since I live about 8 miles from there. I ride to Laplata almost evey night after work. I hate it when hobbies clash!!!!

I'm signed up. About half of the route is similar to the Amish 100 from last month, but some of it is on roads that are new to me. I notice this is the "first annual" version. Hopefully it will be well-organized, but I expect a few hiccups. I went on a ride out in Winchester earlier this year that was the first year the event was held. Mostly it went well, but there were a lot of problems with the cue sheets and some with the route selection and rest-stop spacing.
