I rode fifty on Sunday, thirty yesterday, and was planning on riding somewhere between sixty and seventy five today and then ten or fifteen on Thursday. I am wondering if this is a good idea. Any advice?

H'm, how to put this....

Riding 70 today and 100 on Saturday won't kill you. There's a good chance you will be very sore, and a small chance you'll have an overuse injury, after Saturday's ride.

Generally speaking, the idea is to fit in a 70 or 80 mile ride the weekend before the event, then taper a few days before. Also the goal is to limit your weekly total mileage increases to 10%.

Again you'll probably be fine. Stock up on Tylenol and Tiger Balm just in case, and adjust your training schedule for next time.

You can do it. I rode 67 miles the day before my first 100 mile hill ride.
Just go slow. Eat and drink while you pedal. Stand up and pedal when your butt tells you too.

Personally, I wouldn't ride 70 miles 2 days before doing 100, ESPECIALLY if you are not used to doing that long of distances. If 50 miles is your longest distance to date, the 70 today could really wipe you out for the 100 Saturday, and then you will be starting sore and tired on Saturday instead of fresh and rested. Most century training schedules have you doing 10 easy miles 2 days out and 5 easy miles the day before the century, just to stay loose. So no real energy expenditure but mostly rest several days before the century.

At this point, I'd just conserve your energy. Keep hydrated, as that prevents cramps and helps your energy level and helps you feel better. You should be drinking (water) more than normal today and tomorrow so that you are peeing clear. That's more important advice than trying to get in a certain amount of milage before your century ride, this late stage in the game.

Good luck and have fun.
