Just throw all that junk in a box and put it out on the curb. We'll send someone over to haul it away ... no charge.
You're very welcome. :D

Or are you just pulling my kick-stand.

That helmet looks slow too.

You've got an extra crank. The one you're not going to use (meaning, either one) would look nicely on my bike.

I have an FSA K-Force Light on e-bay right now.
Red brakes, Psi.
It's my office, not the living room. I may look stupid but I'm not that stupid Alien. ;)
Suddenly I understand what most women apparently feel, as they're standing in high-end jewelry stores staring down through the glass case at items they'll probably never own.
Like a woman trying on a diamond tennis bracelet, I wanna hold those components up beside my bike and imagine what they'd look like on it. Though on my bike, putting SRAM Red on it, would be like puttin "frosting on a turd".

Of course it would have to be a "lime green" frosting. My bike's a 12 y/o lugged steel Bianchi, that probably weighs in around 25lbs. I have a "love/hate" relationship with it; the kind that usually only comes from living with the same woman for many years. Now if I could just get either one of them to shave a few pounds...

I've been staring at this pic for a while. Had it up the whole time I was talking to you on the phone about it. Still can't get over it. It is an extremely fine looking machine for sure. I can't even imagine how nice it will be to ride.
Enjoy the pleasure it brings man....and ride the pi$$ out of it....like I know you will.

Wow -she's stunningly beautiful! I would sooo cheat on my Bianchi to ride her. *does this seatpost make me look phat?*
...don't tell us, this one just showed up on your doorstep, too?
In your pic of it on the scale, are the saddle and handlebars on it too, or is that the weight for the frame, fork, & seatpost? Either way, it gets me light-headed just looking at it.

I've got everything but brakes and her own Powerdome cassette. Ahh... who needs stinking brakes: all they do is slow you down.
Here are a couple more shots.
Psi was interested in the rear brake. You remove the black bracket. Mount the rear brake to it, and then remount it to the frame (he already guessed that of course). Pretty trick. Hey, the girl knows what she's doing doesn't she. ;)

Psi ... actually, it's a left over tool from my commuter bike project. I had to bend the front planet bike plastic fender. It got warped somehow and was rubbing. Haven't used it on the P3C yet. I am currently using your super glue on the cable ends trick as I thread and cut the cables. Might go the shrink route though, think it would look nice.

Starting next year, I'm carrying a large frame pump with me just for your front wheel, in case I'm ever close enough to put it there. Very sweet ride colorchange.
Now you gonna put a rack on the back of the car or will both of your Cevelos play nice together in the back seat? I can just hear it now "Daddy, the SLC-SC just made a bad face at me", " No I didnt ", " Yes you did ", "Did not ", " Did too ", "nuh uh" "uh huh". " You two play nice, dont make me stop this car"

That chain going to be long enough?
ColorChange
10-22-08, 02:50 PM
Yea, typical big rings plus one link. I think it's fine but I'll have you take a look once I get her fully put together. She's in the third smallest ring now on my SLC-SL cassette (11-26) and her 11-25 Powerdome isn't in yet.
Psimet2001
10-22-08, 03:10 PM
I prefer to put it in the small-small and take out just enough to make sure the chain isn't rubbing on the cage (derail is under at least some tension). That usually allows me some extra room in the big-big which is a combo I mash way too much but still ensures that it is short enough.
It also means I can change cassettes without changing chain - the small cog will never get smaller no matter what cassette I choose and I still have room on the upper end for larger cogs.
EDIT: this might not make sense to some people so I will try it this way...
using the big-big+1 technique you are ensuring that the chain is "long-enough" (leaving it on the short side) to work with the largest cog on that particular cassette.
Using small-small you are ensuring that the chain is "short-enough" (leaving it on the long side) to work with the small-small combo - a combo that won't change unless you get a smaller crank....

11-25 on a TT bike?! Don't you want the gearing closer than that?
I can see it now: Oooooh, this gears too much :p but the one before it is too little :twitchy: DOH! - 3 seconds over again -- Cyclpsycho is going to make fun of me again
I always used a 11-18 (8 speed) only one tooth difference/shift. Much easier to keep HR, or your case watts, at the level you want.
Just my $.02

I run an 12-23 ( I don't have any 11's) 10spd during TT's for this reason. I figure you always have the small chainring for climbing and there aren't any TT's around here with climbing.
I just have a range of cassettes and swap as needed. next time you guys see me look in the trunk. i will have 3 or so cassettes in there because of swapping for racing.
