I have an izip bike and it has a 20tooth lefty freewheeling sprocket. I need to have at least 40teeth and no lefties are made past 20. Any of you have some ideas on a workaround.

With the motor, the problem I'm having is getting a 1000w with gear reduction so I don't need a large rear wheel sprocket!! Caught between a rock and a hard place.

Any info or help is greatly appreciated.

TIA

:)

I might be ok cause I found out the 1000w motor from tnc that comes without gear reduction is a dog, I've got it setup on a 44tooth sprocket and it's still got no torque, so I'll need a 60 tooth sprocket. Anyways, I posted some info on the cyclone kits, I'm heading that way, brushless etc... As far as the lefty sprocket, I wound up using a disc brake setup to attach a 44 tooth sprocket to it... 8-)

Great information. Too bad I'm not an engineer. :p That guy has more knowledge and available shop than most of us can dream of. He's actually manufacturing the bike from scratch. Hell, he could design and sell bikes but sounds like this is a hobby for him. Hard working bugger he is.

Thanks for the link.

Once I get the cyclone kits, I'll see what happens. I think I'll replace the crank bearings if they act up.

So far, sounds like the install is the most promising. One thing I don't like is that the controller is in the motor. I might look into a different controller if the existing one acts up. Only time will tell.
