I'm thinking about touring around the city a little one of the days this weekend and was wondering if some of the regular or local riders wanted to give me any tips. I know not to let my bike out of my sight.

Any good bike shops? Food? Places? Things I should watch out for?

Get a copy of the San Francisco Bike Map (from any city bike shop or sfbike.org). It shows you all the city bike lanes and bike routes and hills.

If you cross the GG Bridge watch for wandering tourists that like to take up the whole walkway and are oblivious to anyone around them.

Go to the Wharf and grab some clam chowder in a sour dough bread bowl at Boudin's or one of the small chowder houses right behind it.

And then PM Pete (taxi777) for advice on touring the City. He is truly a human map! :)

Good luck! Wish I could join ya!

It's fleetweek this weekend so the wharf, Marina Green, Crissy Field area are going to be super crowded. The parade of ships is Saturday, get on the bridge and watch them go pass under you. Super cool.
