Mountain Biking - Hey Spic-Mick

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Is it possible to buy Kona jack-**** pedals? Or do they only come on the complete bikes?
You can get them from your Kona Dealer. I am not sure but you may be able to get them from KonaWorld.com. You can get some of their stuff shipped directly to you from the site.
Thanks Spic-Mick! I'll check with the Kona dealer in Columbia. I looked at the konaworld site but they don't list the pedals.
Do BMX pedals have different threading than MTB?

Yes there is a difference.
Current Road and MTB pedals have 9/16" x 20 tpi threads. These are the ones you need.
Pedals for one-piece cranks (like BMX) are 1/2" x 20 tpi.
Don't get burned!

Hey thanks bikerider!! I was just looking at danscomp.com and they have some Wellgo platform pedals on sale fore 16 bucks. It's kinda hard to jump stairs and ride teeter-totters on clipless pedals.

Most quality BMX bikes come with 3 piece cranks. Just make sure you get 9/16" Bmx pedals. But you will find that its mostly really cheap BMX pedals that come in the 1/2" size.
Kick ***. danscomp.com gies you a choice between both sizes.
Hey Fubar,
If you are going to order from a mail order BMX place, try this one:
www.phkbicycles.com . It is a buddy of mine in here in the New Orleans area. He does not have quite the selection of Dan's comp. but his prices are just as good. Anyway take a look at his site he might have what you are looking for. And tell him Kevin sent you.

How?
Have you seen the Wellgo platforms? Are they crapola? PHK has SNAFU platforms for a few dollars more.

The wellgos are not bad for the money. My old pedals were S&M's which were just relabeled wellgos. They held up pretty well, if look at the pic of the stinky in the "my klein" thread those are S&M's made by wellgo.
That said the Snafu's are better and a whole lot "COOLER"!!
THe Oddysey(sp?) ones that he has for 24.99 are cool too. I almost got those when I got my new pedals. But I got some DK Iron Cross Magnesium's(sp?) instead.
If you do order from Pete at PHK let him know I (Kevin) sent you.
Thanks! I only have about 25 bucks so the Wellgo's will have to suffice. To let PHK know you sent me, do I just put that in the comments section of the online ordering form?
