Anyone else looking forward to OU v TX this weekend? Should be a doozy...

ou sucks
Heh - good response. I know A&M doesn't like seeing Texas win but I think both Texas and A&M hate OU worse than each other. Actually, to be honest I always root for A&M as long as they aren't playing us.
Btw - if Texas does pull off the upset they then have to turn around and play Missouri next week who is #2 right now. Actually win or lose that's pretty f'ing brutal either way.
Big 12 has a top tier and a bottom tier and no middle, or at least not much of a middle. If you are not OU, or Texas or TT, or Missouri, you are gonna get your butt handed to you in conference play I think.
BTW, did I mention ou sucks?
My brother used to work at a car rental place in Austin while he was in school there. The guys there all had orange t shirts with ou sucks in small letters. I so wanted one of those shirts.
I'm especially looking forward to none of my students showing up for class tomorrow morning.

TX does have a rough schedule the next two weeks.
My prediction is they lose one game. And it won't be this Saturday.

I love the tough schedule. TX has a bit of a swagger this year and I don't think they'd have it any other way.

Heh - Major's coaching for the Horns this year if I'm not mistaken. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the head coach down the line somewhere.

I am so not looking forward to a bunch of rowdy drunks from OU & UT carousing outside my home. At least we're no longer on the second floor like we were the last 4 years.

Heh - where in Dallas do you live? I used to live just off Knox. I'd bolt my doors and stay in that night.

For the last 4 years I lived at the corner of Ervay & Elm in Downtown. Elm Street is the main way to get from Fair Park/Deep Ellum to the I-35/I-30 Mixmaster. Between midnight and 3am on Fridays & Saturdays drunk people drive through downtown blasting their car stereos. It was worse on TX/OU weekend.
Now we live in the Mosaic, at Akard & Pacific. We're still downtown, but should be high enough, and far enough away from the main thoroughfares that we won't hear much.

Heh - yeah, I looked at living in that area. They were renovating those old buildings into apartments. The were very cool, but yeah, the traffic from everyone leaving Deep Ellum kind of turned me off.

Anyone interested in rugby..... UT and OU play tonight at Ford Stadium at SMU. They have 2 or 3 teams and start at 6 PM... I think the "first team" plays at 8 or 8:30.
One of my nephews plays for UT. It's like a fraternity that plays rugby... rough stuff!
I think admission is free, but not 100% sure.

that's right down the road from where I used to live. I used to go up there and run the track sometimes. I ran one day with Michael Johnson out there. Makes me nostalgic for my old stomping grounds.

Michael Johnson. Smoothest sprinter I've ever seen. That would be like riding with LA, throwing the football with Vince Young, playing catch with the Rocket..... playing guitars with Elliott Easton (I've done that).

The amount of longhorn fans in this thread is not proportional to their success against the Sooners the past ten years...

You should see him in person. A lot of superhuman athletics look great on tv, but they truly leave you in awe when you witness them in person. He was tuning up for the Olympics too - it was a couple of weeks before the start of the games that year.

That sucks.
And as an aside, can we all agree the officiating in that game was tacky? What a bunch of wimp calls against OU for roughing the passer and UT for running into the kicker.

getchyer horns up.
the usual mistakes by colt did not hurt us today, thank goodness. easily could've gone the other way.
and stoops' decision making usually gives us a little edge.
the young men of both teams gave it all and presented an excellent show. now it's time to start a streak against oklahoma u. so things can get back to normal. wins against oklahoma u. and u. of arkansas in same year = like old times.
