I have an '86 Centurion Dave Scott Ironman bike that I want to fit with modern Shimano STI stuff. Unfortunately I don't know how to fit my 9speed Shimano STI group on the frame: I took off the downtube shifters and discovered that the shifter bosses are not the usual "square" shape, so I can't fit STI cable bosses like these:

They have a semi-round shape and a notch that serves as a limit stop for downtube shifters (currently I have Shimano 600 friction shifters mounted). The cable guides above will not fit these bosses.
How can I get my STI cables on the DT shifter braze ons? Note, I'd rather not use a clamp-on cable guide. The naked braze-ons would get in the way of the cable and even if they didn't it would look ugly.
