Northern California - This Weekend?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Riverbank Cheese and Wine Festival Century(110 Miles) on Sunday 10/12 in Riverbank just outside of Modesto.
RBR is having a group ride out of the VA hospital in Palo Alto on Sunday at about 9am. They usually split up into an A, B and, if they have enough, a C group. Which doesn't really matter since you'd be up in the A group anyway! :) They also have a few re-groups as well.

I will be up in Reno. First penguin ride of the season. Sunday calls for Sunny and a high of 36 at the summit of Mt. Rose.

Riverbank on Sunday, and the Condor Classic Saturday. I'm in for the Condor, and am toying with the idea of double-dipping and doing the Riverbank on Sunday.

Marco, do you have a bike with 700x28c or above tires on it? If you do, you should consider this ride -- will be climbing Mt. Tam via Railroad Grade Fire Road, then doing a couple other fire roads as we descend toward Alpine Dam. From there, it's paved roads all the way back to the city.
We are meeting Saturday at 9:30AM at the bridge, or 8:45AM at Velo Rouge Cafe on Arguello Street.

I feel like a sandwich in Pescadero. Think I'll do the big coast loop.
Leaving at around 12:30 from San Mateo.
I'm staring at snow. This stuff better melt by tomorrow or I'll be doing a 1000' climb hill repeat over and over again.

Well, at least you are not staring at a computer screen all day. I can see blue skies, and sun shine, but can't enjoy any of it ... :(

I just did:
San Mateo -> Woodside -> OLH -> W84 -> W Alpine -> Skyline -> E84 -> Robert's -> and Back.
I tacked on some local steep stuff at the end.
64.45 miles -- 6100 feet of climbing
3h:50m ride time -- 16.8mph avg spd
166 bpm avg HR (for the whole ride).
Pulled a 21:20 OLH time.... 8 sec better than my best, but still can't get it under 21 flat.
Wind on Canada on the way home was BRUTAL!

Ruth and I will be doing the same tomorrow, but going up Kings, on the tandem.
