I'm too paranoid to do the early thing. I have to see the ballot go from my hands into the machine that counts it.
...It took me a long time to accept direct deposit of paychecks, as well.

Has to be Nader. He's the only one who makes any sense at all.

I need to get my arse in gear. Won't be able to vote in CO (though I was hoping to help swing the state).

I didn't bother to change my registration address for the primary since I am registered as independent, and can't vote in the primary here. However, I do want to vote in the general election, so I filed my change of address Friday. As another thread mentioned, it was an hour and ten minutes before the deadline.

Since the R implies "her" I can only assume you voted for Palin and that old guy.

And what little respect I had of you for saying it. Maybe not 'little'. Little-ish is closer. ;)
Do you know how many times I see and hear that thing? My daughter's cheer team had it on their fricken team t-shirt last year. I almost went berserk. :twitchy:

has anyone else performed their civic duty yet?
No. I've got nothing against absentee voting if it's your thing but I prefer going to the polls on Election Day.

I did this afternoon after lunch.
Georgia actually has early voting this time around, not that I've ever agreed with the rest of the state.

Most Larry the Cable Guy fans are voting for McCain.
It will take them a few minutes, after they figure out that they can't vote for Bush again, and that Palin has to be vice pretzeldent.

There are polling places you can go to vote in person, but you're highly encouraged to use the absentee ballot to reduce congestion at the polling stations. I got tired of all the standing around in line back when I lived in Ohio, and The Girl has been using absentee ballots since her accident, so (IIRC) I signed up for the absentee ballot right at the DMV when I got my WA licence.

I shall do my civic duty by voting in MD, where my vote will be meaningless.
I should have ACORN register me in a different state.

Maybe for you city slickers but there really aren't outside King and Pierce counties (http://www.secstate.wa.gov/elections/votingsystems.aspx).
The county will operate four drop-off sites for last-minute voters or for those who want the traditional sense of a polling place.

Didn't realize how far south you meant when you listed "south Puget Sound". Yeah, Redmond Ridge out towards Carnation/Duvall is still "city" when compared to some of the farmlands of the south sound. (Did STP go through where you are?)

The polling places here haven't yet been infected by touchscreen pseudovoting, so I still make the trek to the local elementary school.
The moment that changes is the moment I sign up for absentee voting.

We have a single touch screen set up in the top floor of the city hall for early voters. No paper ballet, Diebold machine, not that it would matter in red as red gets Georgia.
