Folding Bikes - (Almost) the full current Downtube range now available in the UK

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Nice presentation of the Downtubes but I would change this bullet:
"Fits in the boot of even small hatchbacks packed into a suitcase for air travel"
by making it into two separate bullets that read:
"Fits into the boot of even the smallest hatchbacks"
and
"Packs completely into a standard sized suitcase for airtravel"

Ah! That's exactly how it's supposed to be. I must have hacked up the HTML when making the new pages. I'll correct it - thanks

Hi Sammy,
I use Firefox to and see it:
if I click on the first bike pix (9Spd orange) I get a second page with explanations and a pix of a white 9Spd BUT: all the white writing (including "HOME" "About us") ...of the first page is kind of overlaid still to be seen just kind of "dropped down" in the page.
Same if I click on the second red bike pix. Only with clicking on the mini all is fine.
Also when clicking on the small items like "mud guards" etc. at the left side one gets no result. Good luck with fix

About the same issues I have in FF. I am running FF 2.something.

Yes the pop up webpages are overlaid like Somna says.
Good luck with your venture Sammy. Dare I say the advantage of some Downtubes is negated a bit by the necessity to ship them to the US and then to the UK and £400 for say a Mini means the jump to a Brompton and or a higher-end Dahon is not so great now. Without a doubt the 8 speed hub FS is still the one worth the adjusted price in my opinion.

Thanks! I'll take a look. I know what you mean about the prices, but this is what it really costs, under the current tax regime. Sorry!

For sure it's down to EU bureaucracy taxing cycles made in or China or not is against the principle of making bikes, especially folding ones more accessible. Still bringing the Mini and the FS 8 speed hub to the UK is a good thing and wish you the best.

Thanks. We had a choice between having people pay the (expensive) air shipping, or moving the bikes to the UK and having people pay the (expensive) anti dumping duty. Ultimately, they came out at the same cost, but if we brought more bikes to the UK, there's more risk, and the UK could potentially end up with old stock again. This way, we'll always have the same that the States has.
