Why December? What kind of mileage are you expecting to do per day? Credit card or actually packing up? What kind of preperations have you made already?
Welcome to bikeforums!
Tried the touring forum yet?

I'd suggest peddling down to Panama, then back up Mexico's east coast. By the time you make Texas, the weather should be much warmer.:)

i am building my map...
basicly im going to take the coastal highway 101 down to sothern cali go into the mohavi desert and then somehow get into texas.
Im going in december because that is the soonest i can leave vancouver.
the sooner i get back to the states the better (it involves a woman)
i will have money to purchase what i need on the way but will pack most of it. you know, sleeping bag, tent, etc.
i want to pull 100 miles a day but this may be optamistic.

If you haven't already, post your question over in Touring. Lots more people over there who have done sections of your route.

look at bikely.com
search for routes around specific cities. You may even find some long, one way routes linking cities.

Where in Texas do you need to get to?
I have a book "America at 10 Miles Per Hour" by John Triggs. It has detail of a tour he did starting in 1993. His route will be backwards from yours, but if you follow it, youd turn East when you
reach LA, then go to Bullhead City, NV, Then Phoenix, Alb, then El Paso.
Actually- you can ride I-40 all the way to Amarillo.

Since you've already been told you will die and you didn't listen, here's my useless tip. Instead of the time and expense that you will incur cycling from Vancouver to S. CA then across the southern Rockies (in the dead of winter) to TX, buy an airplane or Amtrak ticket to Texas and spend long cycling days in the warmer southern climate. Texas to Florida and back might be truly enjoyable, as opposed to a deadly, rainy, cold, snowy slog of 3K+ miles. Save some money and have more fun, but that's just my opinion.

Beware- in North Texas (Thats what we call the DFW area, not Amarillo) there's cold and
rain in the winter. Just be ready for it. Look at the Weather.com historical averages to
get an idea.
