If you are not willing to risk losing the $$, go pick it up.

if your doing paypal and he doesnt ship the part you can refute it and get your money back after an investigation by paypal

You can get the money back from paypal rather easily.

Some ****er did it to me when I sold him a laptop. It worked fine for the first month he had it, then he overclocked it, messed it up and decided he wanted a refund. Then paypal ****ed me over and didnt care.

use paypal and pay paypal through your credit card. paypal is set up to do a bank transfer and you have to do some extra clicking to use your credit card. paypal will charge you a fee to investigate and makes you wait. paypal is not there to protect you, its there to take your money.

I would ask the seller to send you a "money request" thru paypal that has a basic statement saying that he is requesting $amount for whatever part. This way there is an official transcript of the transaction on paypal.
