When I lived and work in Detroit, working in the automotive business I made my first visit to Windsor Ontario. I have never seen sidewalks so clean in my life. I won't tell why I was there but it was a free night on the town by a salesman of a company that sold my company supplies. Needless to say, that was not my only trip to Windsor.

Went to see the Windsor Ballet, did you?
Spent 3 months in Detroit. Always cracked me up that Windsor had the vice (gambling and strippers), but Detroit was the dump.
Windsor also had better restaurants (which is why I went there), but that's not as funny.

Don't kid yourself. Detroit's got vice, AND IT'S A DUMP.
I must be thinking of a different Windsor, Ontario.

The strip clubs allow no one without a collar shirt. No tennis shoes or jeans for sure. Nothing but class joints tambien. At least when I was taken there by an employer who lived for the girls at the clubs. He would take his employees there in a rented limo and paid for everything. This was back in the mid 80's. He did score with a knock out babe from Ann Arbor he met while she gave him a "dance." I remember here very well!

Been there many times as far back as the late 40s and into the 70s.
Nice clean town, friendly (Canucks always are!) and things were always less expensive there due to the difference between the American and Canadian $$.
Have actually cycled over the Ambassador Bridge into Windsor way back in 1974. The ride was soinsored by the Cycling Saddlemen of Dearborn and was a 200 mile event. 120 the first day from Detroit thru Windsor to Sarnia. Next day 80 miles from Sarnia over the Blue Water Bridge into Port Huron and back to downtown Detroit. The bike club arranged for 'bicycles only' over the bridges . . . we had 15 minutes to sprint across. Fun!

I stayed in a motel there once, in a room that had the biggest bathroom I've ever seen. It was literally about 30 feet long, 10 feet wide. It was bizarre.
