Probably will be doing that one. Whether this year or the next I don't know. Depends on the weather (which is really nice, actually)

Take highway 96 west past the reservoir to Wetmore. From there you can turn left and take Hardscrabble Pass into Westcliffe. The pass is about 9000 ft, the grade is quite mellow, and the View of the Sangre de Christo range is spectacular.

The other ride would be to turn right at Wetmore and ride into Florence and Canon City. I think that from P-town to Canon City that way is about 35 miles one way.

A ride out highway 78 to Beulah is also nice if the traffic is light. Get a good county map, because there are some smaller paved roads to take back to town, I just can't remember what the road numbers are, but you see what I'm talking about on the map.
