In converting my Peugeot to fixed gear, I have to deal with some holes in the frame made by the down-tube shifters. How do I do it? Should I fill them in, and if so, how?
I bet you could use some JB Weld to fill in the holes. It's cheap, available at any parts store and easy to use. Mix it, fill the hole, let it cure, and sand down to smoth.

Toothpaste always worked when I was trying to get deposits back from landlords. Although, you may experience mixed results on a bike.

Yep! I can vouch for that one.
