I was wondering if someone could recommend any good places to ride, or any cool things to see, or maybe even share good bike shops in the area.
Help a rookie rider out?

Campus Wheel Works.
A close in (to the city) alternative to Tom Lonzi's place
If you want to e-mail off site I can get some ride maps/cue sheets to you (via snail mail)
NFBC and BWBC are the two 'average' cyclist cycling clubs in the region.
Handlebars,Toms Pro,Shicklunas, and BCC are the fast clubs (who's idea of a warmup speed is 18+)
There's a factual castle out in williamsville, viewing Toronto from the niagara escarpment (rt.429 and upper mountain road) the canal locks in lockport, the cliffs off route 5 (old lakeshore road) out along lake erie, If you have the ID the friendship trail up in ontario Canada offers a host of places to ride to and see (including Niagara Falls)
Another great ride is from Artparks lower lot along the lower niagara up to fort niagara.

Pretty much the only bike shop worth visiting if you are out there.

Bert's is like the Wal-Mart of bike shops.
