OK So – Day 2 of my 3-day Ride/Camp weekend was a Century! I figured – a plain ole Century – I mean last weekend I rode 80 miles at 15+ so man I was ready, right? Well – I did not know it was a mountain! My friend had told me about the 3 day BRAGFEST weekend –camp and ride – and oh on Saturday we can do our first century! So I’m in… Not that I think I am a camper – but I am loving cycling and figure – I’d meet great folks and have great rides! Well if you read my ride 50 report – ya know I crashed the day before…so woke up with my leg a little (alot) bruised...but was fine otherwise...) so after a night in the tent with a total of 12 trains roaring buy and whistling or whatever they do… we woke up – and got ready…Ok I started off.. with my spiffy fixed bike…. I had had the computer sensor moved to the correct side of the bike and facing the right way the day before as well as brakes adjusted , wheel trued up and new awesome pink wrap put on the bike after my mishap yesterday...

So I am off on my gorgeous bike with the pink wrap (people complemented the bike – Riders are so nice!) Anyway I fiddled with the computer and caught up to my friend. She had invited a friend of hers along the friend was on a Hybrid – and they were traveling slower than I wanted for my first century. My friend – was very into being sensible and pacing herself…but nope we decided they would ride together and I would go on by myself. I think she truly did not care- but when we saw each other at rest stops she seemed to talk to me a lot about hoping I wasn’t overdoing…In any case not to be deterred. I rode a little faster(NOT MUCH MIND YOU) and caught up with 2 guys that said they’d be happy for me to join them… so we rode off.one was 54 and on his first centrury - the other the strongest rider was 74!

Man o Shevitz there was a lot of ups….I did not think I was riding fast –so I was pretty much set – but it was hard ridings up so many hills. And then my first mountain on a bike. Now for those of you in Colorado - you are laughing at my mountain ride... But it was tough! 104 miles in all at about 12.7 mph avg. A long time to be on a bike. I tried pedaling up faster than my usual - trying to get better ont he bike and challenge myself (AS if riding a hilly century was not challenging enough :)

I am very grateful to Clyde and Tim whom I joined! We had a great time. My freind also finished up not very far behing me - maybe 20 minutes or so...They had a great time as well and the woman on the Hybird - was phenomenal...Rode up those hills like a champ!

I have been very impressed following your biking progress. You've outpaced me considerably, and took much less time to do it (I'm still gunning for my first century). Keep it up!

Great work Bumble, and 6800ft of climbing was no slouch century either!

Awesome job, do you think your going to do the entire BRAGfest next year?

Congrats Missbumble! Did you ride all 3 days? First BRADfest I've missed since beginning to ride in '05. I missed it! After my 1st century I slept in and didn't ride at all. You Go Girl!
It took me both Sat. and Sun. to get my 100 miles that weekend.

Hey DanoC - I did ride all 3 days!! What a hoot. The first day felt pretty easy - it wasn't, it was hilly - but I was feeling good. Second day was big - but manageable..and thid day - well if I could have weaseled out I might of!

It was definitely a great experience.
