Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I will be visiting family next month and want to ride while I'm there, I will be staying in Zebulon and I've always heard this was a big bike area, I have a Felt F90 road bike and A Felt Q720 mtb.
Any organized rides during this time? What is the mountian biking like around there?
I'm 51, average 15 mph around here in these hills, 30-40 miles is ok, I'm open to most anything on the mtb.

I've heard there is a really good single track trail in Garner, NC. But I've not been there. Harris Lake in Holly Springs (Wake County) is an excellent, county maintained trail that has a good reputation as a fun trail. It has one beginner, 2 intermediate loops and at 2 Advanced loops. All the hard stuff on the Advanced loops has go-arounds so you can pick and choose what you want to ride. But, it's about 40 miles from Zebulon. Garner is closer.

my thought also. maybe he meant Nov instead of Oct.

Bring your road bike.

For rides in the area, check out

the NCDOT Bicycle calendar - it is relatively easy to find once on the NCDOT website, and
the calendar on "NCbikeclub.org"

There are other logical places to look, but the above two will get you info and places with links to other places with more info. A little effort is likely to reveal some rides.

However, if you're in Zebulon, you may just want to ride solo. There are some cue sheets on the "NCbikeclub" site that you may find useful.
