Hi all, I've been beginning to extend my rides past the 50-60 mile mark, and completed a double metric and then some earlier this summer with some friends. I'm looking to take some routes that lead me out of Whatcom County and up across the border. Trouble is, I know the county roads pretty well but have no clue when I get into BC. I've been playing with routes that take me up along the Fraser and back to Bellingham in about 90 miles, but I can only garner so much information about roads from Google Maps.
Any cyclists from up across the line have some suggestions for me? I have a specific route I'd like to adapt to avoid crappy roads, or make more scenic. I don't want to ride a crappy chip seal road with no shoulder when the next road over is beautiful, ya know?
Also, any advice on areas in southern BC that are worth exploring by bike would be great for when I start pushing past 100? If you pm me your email I'll send you a copy of the map I've been toying with.
Any other tips or advice about an American day triping into Canada by bike? Border issues or tips? Thanks in advance everybody!
