I have been riding a trek hybrid since May 2007. I wrecked my shoulder in June and have been unable to ride for 4 months!
I'm going nuts without my wheels, especially since I had just gotten back on a bike after 25 years of not biking.
I am seriously considering a recumbent for the future, since I also have some neck problems that preclude riding any kind of conventional road bike AND I get the whole numb-rear thing going on. Sigh. Middle age is .... different, isn't it?
I use my bike for short errands around home and I did commute to grad school (25 mile in one direction, took mass transit the other way) about once a week while I was finishing my Masters. There are lots of communities in my area that have nice bike paths and I enjoy exploring these. I also like riding in traffic (my stepson calls me an 'adrenaline junkie') and using my share of the road.
Someday I'd like to tour.
Looking forward to reading all these lovely threads.
