Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. The screw will no longer tighten the spring on the brake arm because the spring wore through the cheapo plastic groove so the screw just goes right past it (sorry I don't have pictures to explain better). My fault for over tightening? Or, perhaps just the fate of cheapo no name x-mart brakes? Can I buy just the spring adjustment piece, or should I look for a whole new brake arm? Do they make a metal spring adjustment piece as opposed to a plastic one?

Thanks for the help.

You can buy low-end Tektro brakes from your LBS for less than $10. No plastic parts, pads included.
