Is anyone doing the Savage Century (http://www.whiteclaybicycleclub.org/Events-WCBC/savage.htm)this year? I was thinking of doing it as kind of a last hurrah for the year, but I'm not sure if it's worth getting up and making the 2 hour drive to Newark.

Relatively inexpensive and the ride actually has some challenge to it. Sounds nice, I might just have to try and make it.

It is recommended that for the longer loops bikes be equipped with a low of 40-gear inches (e.g. 28 tooth rear sprocket and 42-tooth chain ring) or lower to prevent undue straining on the major hills.

Sounds like my 39x25 combo should be perfect. :)
