After doing some searches for parts to upgrade campy 8 speed
to either 9 or 10 speed and coming up short on most of the parts,
I mentioned needing a rebuild to LBS (Richardson Bike Mart).
Paul one of the wrenches says, "we can do a rebuild for $20. per lever".
I checked on parts alone for rebuild at Branfords and it would have cost
well over that, and I would still have to build it.
All G springs were replaced and index gear on right lever replaced
(this was one of the parts I couldn't find), total cost both levers
less than $60. The missed shifts were due to fact that the finish was
completely worn off the index gear, and the teeth were starting to
round off.

Bike shifts like new again and I'm a happy camper.

I thought this was a cycling forum, not camping :)

That's great to hear; an LBS with quality service capability isn't on every corner. They certainly deserve your business when it's time for a new chain or set of tires.

Harry,

I buy everything I need from them unless it just
isn't available, or old vintage parts.
I had a fitting done by the shop since I had some minor
knee pain starting. The fitter (sales mgr) charged me less
than the posted price, he sai due to the fact that he didn't do much he didn't feel right charging full fee.
yeah, I will continue to shop there, and when I'm ready
for a new frame (custom) that is where I will have it ordered.
