I want to get a new set of wheels, ones that are suitable for on road and fireroad use. Anyone:
a. Had experience with Mavic Open Pros for this usage?
b. Have any good recommendations?

open pros are the best recommendation you can get. they are excellent alol-round wheels: relatively light [with ultegra hubs and 32 spokes, about 1600 g] and incredibly tough. i raced a set all last season off-road, stayed as true as the pope.
