Considering this triathlon. Although my first triathlon or you can say adult race I'm uneasy about the 1500 meter hudson river swim. Last year the swimming portion was canceled on account of several days of rain polluting the river with NYC litter & junk we're so well known for. I've been searching the internet & haven't found any information on the health hazards. There should be some discussion somewhere. Every New Yorker friend I happen to mention to that I'm swimming the hudson river for the ford nyc triathlon grimaces with disgust. Any experiences, suggestions. Maybe I should look somewhere else beside my hometown.
