Hey guys
I think I've finally decided to buy a folding bike to use for relatively short-distance city rides, including public transportation. I really like the features of the Dahon Mu XL -- I want an internally-geared hub, chain guard, and rack for carrying a bag of groceries, etc. The bike also needs to be lightweight, relatively quick, and fold small enough to fit under a shopping cart in the grocery store. (Does anyone know if the Mu XL is small enough for this?)
However, it looks like only the Dahon Mu XL "Sport" is sold in the US, and the Sport model does not include the chain guard or rack, though the rack appears to be available as an accessory. The chain guard is pretty important to me, because my road bike experience indicates it's just not possible to ride a bike with relaxed-cut jeans on and not get them greasy. Does anyone have any idea why the chain guard is not sold an accessory? Can I somehow buy the "international version" of the bike in the US, or by mail order?
Thanks!
