I finished restoring my 82' peugeot road bike and for its maiden voyage, I rode for 30 minutes on a trainer. I did this so that if it breaks down, Im already in the garage. I put some new clip and strap pedals on (plastic cage, came off an 09 specialized allez from the LBS) I used them because I havent started using clip-less yet and I am saving for my first "new" roady.

After 30 minutes of riding, mostly intervals, the outside of my foot was hurtig very badly. The platform of the pedals is wide enough for about the inside 3/4s of my foot. I wear a 13 EEEE shoe. Any suggestions?

Get some pedal extenders. I have a EEE width myself, and thats what I use. I bought from the guy selling on ebay, he is selling them for $22 or $24 if you want stainless.
