hi dahon owners,
I have just bought (finally!) a dahon.
but I have been bothered by this thought:
it's the seatpost length.
I am only 5 feet 7 tall.
but when I obey the minimum insertion, my legs can't stretch fully.

then I did some measurements:

saddle to pedal distance: 30 3/4 inches (78cm) (my ideal would be 34 inches)
seatpost length 20 3/4 inches (53cm)
minimum insertion mark: 8 inches from bottom. (20cm)

this is not the same as mentioned at he website.
at dahon website:
max saddle to pedal dist. is 95cm!

so until somebody can come up with a definitive answer,
for now I am presuming that the seatpost we in asia receive
is shorter than those supplied in american models.

the standard length you guys have, I presume is longer than 20 3/4 inches,
28 inches??
would you guys measure your seatpost length, and inform me please?
thanks in advance.

The ThudBuster seat post on my 2005 Boardwalk S1 is slightly longer than the stock one and measures at 38.5" from the pedal to top of the seat when set at the MAX insertion line - which is setting at which I ride.

It is slightly shorter than the Thudbuster on my Bike Friday NWT, which is set at the ideal level for me.

most lengths are somewhere on that page.... I dont think that there is a shorter seartpost for the Asia market .....

My seatpost length is 55cm, I'm 173cm and fit nicely on the Mu.
Maybe you want a taller saddle? There are saddles with longer rail-to-top distance. You can add 1-2cm this way.

What about thinner pedals? Clipless ones? They can give you 1cm more compared to the folding ones.

But seriously, one of these days we have to meet up. I can't believe your fitting woes :)
