At cbike, the record 1" threadless is 60 bucks, the equivalent hiddenset is only 35 bucks, and weighs 75 grams! Which one would you choose, and why. I'm looking to get a better headset than what i have now, but i am unsure about the way hiddensets look.

You have to have a compatible frame to use the Hidden Headset.

Yeah, normal frames have a straight headtube, and have the cups pressed into them. But a lot of modern frames have the bearings set right into the headtube, identifiable by a curvy headtube, so you don't need cups (hence the cheaper price and lower weight). Unfortunately they're not compatible. But Campy do great headsets, so I'd get which ever one fitted my frame (one of each as is happens).

Go King and never buy another headset again for that bike. You might end up moving it to another bike, in fact, if the integrated cup designs don't completely take over.

Yeah, but my parents are footing the bill on this one.
