Someone posted here that there was a problem with the belt drive being to close to the tires, but this blog says that it's fine.

Just the rear tyre actually. The front fits fine, other than the original mudguard can't be fitted.

I had no problems with the magnet (Strida 3.2) but at a sensible pressure the belt scraped the tyre so it isn't practical. I've ridden a Strida 5 for several miles, but don't own one, & didn't examine it closely enough to determine the feasibility of a BA on the rear.

It may be the Spanish fella has effectively extended the axle thus creating enough clearance. I'll watch the rear wheel video again later but first pass & it's unclear to me what he's done.

Bear in mind the further out the "sprocket" is from the wheel centre, the greater the load on the rear wheel assembly.

Although comfortable, I haven't found BA's to be any less susceptible to punctures than contemporary tyres - I had a puncture in a brand new BA within 3 miles of fitting! Obviously there are many variables, so may just be (bad) luck.

I am very surprised by Stelvios & Kojaks. About 800 miles before one of my Stelvio's punctured, & less mileage, but so far, none on the Kojaks.

The post says that he used 2 longer screws and 4 stainless steel washers. I've also asked there about the belt drive but he says that it's fine and that the tires are a good investment.

I'm not au-fait with Spanish, so perhaps you could ask him at what pressure he runs the rear tyre?

I did actually fit a rear, but removed it after a few metres riding, as ~ 25 psi was the max' I could use before the tyre touched the belt. As I wrote previously, my test was on my 3.2 Strida. It could be that the tyre to belt clearance is greater on the 5 model.

He hasn't post the tire pressures yet but he says that Big Apples just work with Strida 5, not with Strida 3.2.
