We've "slammed" George,Vino & Ullrich. Now on to Santiago. Another underachiever? Or simply a "Jeckyl & Hyde". Any doubts as to his training
regimen this year.

IMO Botero is over-estimated. He had some good performances, I guess it was back in 2000, but that was it. Since then he showed light and shadow, rather shadow to be precise.
Good teamer, no champion. Even no good climber, like he was regarded as.

I am not sure what the issue with him is...there were drug questions, new team that isn't as supportive/tightly knit. I like to look at what Riis has done, when evaluating riders. He seems to have a knack for bringing back, or back up, riders that may have lost some confidence or passion and belief in their ability. I love to support those "battling back" or "proving themselves" when they were once doubted. I think that too often we forget that these guys are just like us ...doubts, injuries, family and financial issues, crappy bosses, lazy or burned out. Ultimately, most persevere, and go on to good lives even if not what we call Champions.

No one here is saying that they could do better...most of us are not pros......so it should not be expected for us to do better than people making lots of $$$ cycling

If you'd read the Hincappie thread, you'd know that I was joking.

:) is also a symbol of joking and or sarcasm.
