O.K. I just want to get a feel for what you drink or eat specifically after a long or strenuous workout or event. Say a hard century or a hilly 50-60 miler or whatever is long or hard enough that you feel the effects of the event for 2-3 days. I'm off to work, check back later!!!

Chinese food.
Seriously, I normally eat whatever I'm in the mood for. I've found that if I control my hunger throughout the ride correctly, I'm normally not that hungry when I get back. When I didn't, I felt like I could eat my house.
after hard efforts i immediately down some Hammer Recoverite (http://www.hammernutrition.com/za/HNT?PAGE=PRODUCT&CAT=REC&PROD.ID=4051&OMI=10140,10082,10047&AMI=10140). after that it just depends where i am and what i am doing. if i am at home, i may do some post ride stretching and a shower before having small meal of some kind. if out and about it could be whatever strikes my fancy. later.

post workouts > 90 mins: 2g/kg carbs within 30 mins if possible with some protein. Another 2g/kg in the next 3.5 hrs. Prefer some fruit and veg and stuff with anti-oxidants.
post century: Beer

After a morning ride: Chocolate milk (2%), 3 eggs (2 yokes) & 3 Eggo blue berry waffles (Nutri-Grain) with sugar free syrup.
After a PM ride: Chocolate milk (2%), Chicken breast (boneless), whole wheat pasta (1 cup dry) with pasta sauce.

this was my morning fuel the day after a 120 mile ride and before the remaining 55. I think I digested it before the first 15 miles.

I usually have a protein drink as soon as possible after a ride. Chocolate milk is good too, but I am dropping out as many of the sugars as I can.
Then a light meal that will be digested in less than an hour. Scrambled eggs and toast hit the spot oftentimes.

120g carb, 25g protein in about 25 oz water (maltodextrin, 1 banana, 1 cup blueberries, choc protein powder)
If you buy blueberries in season and stock em up in the freezer (5lbs for $5) you can toss a cup in the mix and not feel like Hammer products or R4 may be a more affordable means of recovery.
I still eat food within an hour of getting home -- after I'm all cleaned up.

16 oz of low fat chocolate milk as a recover drink. After that whatever I am in the mood for.

I eat whatever I'm hungry for. Quite often it's pizza.

Is that actually filling? I find I can easily eat a medium size pizza without feeling like I am stuffed. Which is weird considering all the cheese on it.

Three pieces of pizza and I'm stuffed.

home made fruit and yogurt smoothie with some whey protein
then its on to
PEROGIES, with some grilled onions and Mediterranean Yogurt (The thick stuff) instead of sour cream...
YUM! Glass of Retsina
nice hunk of grilled salmon with Pesto with Pine Nuts/Pasta also suits...
