Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I never shift into my smaller front gear....so Im moving to a 42T front
I have an ultegra crank set I would like to use.
I have a spot 42 tooth chain ring
Both are 130 bolt pattern
I was considering getting a spot 42 T guard (they have a 130 bolt pattern).
Is this an ok set up? what kind of bolts do i need to order for that? or spacers?
I also have a third eye for the inside.
thanks for the help!

if you're running a chainring on the inside and a chain guard on the outside, your stock chainring bolts will be fine. Just pretend that the chain guard is the big chainring.
would I be better off getting a 44T guard? Or would it really matter between the 44 or 42?
I ask because salsa makes a nice one at 44T (not 42)

I run this exact same setup. 42 tooth chainring with the Salsa max 44t chainguard. It looks great and works great.
