Just wanted to introduce myself quickly. I am from Sunny Tampa Florida. I recently bought a Cannondale R600 around the Holidays.

My husband spends his life on the golf course and I am bored with the gyms, so I wanted to pick up a hobby that I would really enjoy.

About 10 years ago I use to ride quite a lot when I had all the time in the world and no real responsibility.(BOY DO I MISS THOSE DAYS). Now I have been trying to do 5 -10 miles 4 -5 times a week when time allows.(COME ON DAY LIGHT SAVINGS TIME)

This is the best time of year to ride around here. It is not too hot and no afternoon thunder showers. (Tampa is suppose to be the lightning capital during the summer)

I've forgotten more than I remember, so I have lots of questions and like to learn from other's experience.

I'm not ready to ride with any type of group yet, but hopefully I will see everyone along the trail sooner than later..

Hey Bab, I'm down in Sarasota, and yeah, the summer rides are hit and miss with the rain. Usually if it's not raining at the start of the ride, it will be by the end.

Most rides around here anyways start about 6:00 p.m. and are about 30 to 40 mile rides. Any earlier and it's blooming hot! One of the most popular rides is up and down a barrier island, so there is usually a sea breeze. That helps.

Good Luck and Welcome to the forums
