I woke up at 5AM with no "waking inertia" (that feeling that you need just x more minutes/hours/days of sleep). Got dressed promptly, ate breakfast and was out of my apartment in less than an hour, a first for me.

Everything was going perfect until I got to my transfer station, when I realized I forgot my bag of stuff. What was in that bag, you ask?

My training sneakers,
A few shirts,
My old, worn-out bib shorts, cycling cap and sweatpants,
My Canon 20D with a EF 28-105mm lens attached, and
My house keys, with my bike keys and drawer keys for my desk.

Fortunately (or not), I realized I lost it about two minutes after the train departed, so I reported it as soon as I got to the station. Naturally, the people at customer service couldn't reach the conductor of that train, so they just took my information down. When I was able to get on my next train 20 minutes later, a conductor was able to speak to a dispatcher, so that he/she can try to get a hold of the conductor on the previous train and (hopefully) hold my item. I'm a little worried because:

That train was en route to Montclair State University, i.e. lots of students may have boarded that train, and
I think that train passes through Newark - Broad Street. That's enough to get me worried right there.

Surprisingly, I'm in a semi-calm mood. I started creating a habit to meditate a few minutes before I go to bed, and then try to think of nothing while on my bed, lying flat on my back. That has seemed to help make getting up easier, but it may have helped with this too. I'm just hoping to God they find it; replacing everything that was in there will surely break my wallet (well, at least obliterate this paycheck anyway).

Wow, that's not a camera you want to lose! Hope they find it.

Oh god, worst feeling ever!

I hope it turns up. That's kind of crappy that they can't reach the conductor ASAP. Makes me wonder.

Fingers crossed. What you should have done though was call Harrelson and Snipes, they could get your stuff off the train, no problem. Those guys are so money.

Turns out that everything was all well and good!

I left my camera (and everything related) at home. My keys and clothes are still missing, though.

Be a little more careful when you just wake right up. That should have been a red flag right there. :p

My morning was almost perfect too, but then I woke up.

Good luck on getting your stuff back.

Nah, just my set of house keys. One of them had a key to my bike lock, but I have another spare at home.

It's all good.

glad to hear that...the bag is bad enough, but the camera and lens would have been a heart breaker.

Would've made my wallet lighter, which may have helped on the climb...:p
