Foo - I want to go biking so bad, but my friend does not

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

He has the truck.
Stuff him in an oven. Take the truck. Make new friends when you get back.

Where do you suppose I find a large enough oven. And where are the keys?

If you were really hardcore, you'd ride to the ride and wouldn't need the truck. :p

2 and a half hours on the I converter to x amount of time on a mountain bike is not my cup of tea.

"Would I stuff my pal rocky in an oven just so I can take a bike ride?"
"You might, rabbit, you might"
He's not really your friend

Where is Hickeydog when I need him? Is this the time when I'm supposed to say HTFU?
He and Unsate Alpine and a few other peeps are all studying for tests....or doing something else useful...sure has been quiet on here....:(:(:(
:( I normally ride solo, however on EPIC occasions - where I have to set up my bike on their truck to go to better areas - I appreciate (mostly for the 'burbs mtb playtime), especially as I'm a total commuter. Nice when it works out, however on the other times - that's when the roadie comes out of the basement. Solo riding baybeh!! Don't let the ghostly partner hold ya back!

You should have come to the ride I posted in Regional for last Sun. It was EPIC.

Just went and looked at your post in the regional - and actually last Sunday I was working the Cyclocross race at Cobb's Hill. Here too - I'm a commuter and in order to get out to outlying rides (which btw - you rode some gorgeous areas!), I rely on another person with vehicle who may be going out to the ride. Other than that - I ride to the area where the ride starts and join the ride. Your ride, however was a cruise to get out there, especially for a person who resides in downtown Rochester.
You ride with RBC? There are some rides out that way. I'm the ex publicity directer for the club (left the Board this past year, but still with the RBC as well as GROC - mtb club outta Victor).
PM me if you plan on other rides out there too! Plus if you have an established route there, it's always an option to get it set up as a regular map - and set you as a ride captain as while we have well over 350 maps/rides - the more the merrier - plus it allows more people to join in!

I don't think you're going to be successful getting Kirstie on a bike. Just go ride and make a new friend.

Hes the kid that got me into biking. We both started with trek 820s and thought they were worth 9,000% more than any previous xmart bike. He has football now though, and even though I have futbol, he still tries to say its too hard to bike and be ready for football the next day.
I don't have any way of getting to the trails without him.
Why do you need to ride the trails? Ride on the street or look for something closer to home. Or just ride to the trails, ride the trails, ride home. Sounds like a perfect time for HTFU!
